Relationship with Central and Local Governments and Industrial Groups

The DOWA group coordinates and cooperates with central and local governments and the industrial community as a whole to improve and resolve social concerns while engaging business activities.

The DOWA group is a member of several industrial organizations such as Nippon Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and Japan Mining Industry Association, working on specific issues of the business world and industry.

Participation in various international organizations and consortiums

The DOWA group has been participating in the UN Global Compact (UN GC) since March 2009. The DOWA group is committed to implementing the GC's ten principles in four areas of the Global Compact of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption—these are geared towards sustainable development of society.

June 2012	DOWA ECO-SYSTEM and DOWA TSU-UN (Shared with Japan Freight Railway Company) received the Logistics Environmental Enlightenment Award from the Japan Federation of Freight Industries.
September 2012	Akita Zinc Co., Ltd. received the Nationwide QC Circle Conference Award for Small Group Improvement Activity Themes from the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers.
November 2012	Eco-System Sanyo Co., Ltd. received the Environmental Okayama Award from the Governor of Okayama Prefecture.
