Business Topics
Development of High Power Deep Ultraviolet LED with the World State of Art Output

DOWA Electronics Materials succeeded in developing a gDeep Ultraviolet LEDh utilizing shorter wavelengths (325 to 350 nm) than those now on the market. This LED is expected to be applied to a variety of applications: hardening of resins, photo catalyst, stereo lithography, water purification and sterilization, and it has attracted much interest from companies all over the world. This will enable a smaller light source of deep ultraviolet rays compared to an existing ultraviolet laser or a gas lamp.
This LED has a longer life and less power consumption, contributing to resource and energy savings. We are now testing this deep ultraviolet LED for mass production and will further promote developing a LED chip with shorter wavelength.
Electronic Circuit Innovation
-
Commercialization of Low Temperature Fired Conductive Ink Using Silver Nanopowder -
DOWA Electronics Materials obtained an exclusive right to sell the conductive ink using silver nanopowder developed by PChem Associates, Inc. in U. S. A. and promoting commercialization of this ink.
Using this low temperature fired ink base on silver nanopowder, we can manufacture a circuit with high conductivity and adhesion only heating the powder for several tens of seconds or a minute under the low temperature of 120 - 150. In addition, high speed printing will allow for cost reduction and printing circuits on paper or PET resin, which used to be difficult. This new LED can also be used as a RFID tag or an electronic ticket. As it can be used for printing on a large area, application for a solar panel of large area may be feasible.
In the future we will endeavor to further develop products that meet the needs of our customers, utilizing our nanoparticle technology and infrastructure.
DOWA Electronics Materials Okayama reduced CO2 emission by converting from using heavy oil to natural gas in 2008. We would like to contribute to reducing global warming, by focusing on development of nitride semiconductor materials for eco-electrical appliances, metal powder for solar cells (for electrodes) in addition to development of deep ultraviolet LEDs and metal nanoparicles used for energy saving parts and materials.
